Sept 17 & 18 – Travel Days

We left Boise quite early on Tuesday. It seems that if you set your smartphone alarm for 7:00am – and it is still on Michigan time – it goes off at 5:00am. Ouch.

After a nice breakfast we headed South. We spent most of the day driving but we did stop in Salt Lake City to check out the Salt Lake Temple. This was an attempt to better understand the Mormon religion in preparation for the play “The Book of Mormon. ”

From there we traveled to Fillmore, Utah. There were some great views along the way. The next day our route took us past The Big Rock Candy Mountain. If you are under 70 you probably don’t remember the song.

Later on Wednesday we met up with my cousin from San Diego – Jerry Hosenkamp and his wife Jean. We had some drinks and snacks before going out for an authentic Mexican dinner in Kanab.
